    White Snails, Anyone?

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     kormenSDiego lives in Manila and took an amateur photography trip in early April to Batanes, the northernmost province in the Philippines. 'This was during one of the sunrise shooting sessions, and the surroundings were still misty. We've just finished shooting the landscape and finished our breakfast and I was walking around shooting flowers, etc. and I saw the wrapped packet with two snails outside. That's when I asked our local guide about it. Little did I know that it was full of snails inside.'

    Just like in France, snails are a delicacy in the Philippines. As we were doing a sunrise shoot in Mt. Karoboboan in Itbayat, Batanes, our local guide was out collecting these white snails for later eating. Even in the Philippines, I've never seen snails this white, most of them are black or brown. Would you dare to try? :-)
