Over two hundred workers of a Candy factory, their families and sympathizers took to the street here today (May, 2012) in Stockholm to protest against the closure of the factory to outsource it to Slovakia. Representatives of the workers, Trade Union leaders, and Representative of the Socialist Party urged the management of the company and the owners Nordic Capital and Cloetta to stop maximizing their profits at the expense of livelihoods of 150 factory workers and their dependents. The tablet Läkerol, started production in Gavle a small town outside Stockholm since the First World War, is now moving to Levice in Slovakia. The protesters were chanting anti-Capitalism and pro-socialism slogans during demonstration. The peaceful rally which started at 14:00 GMT at Sergel's square ended at 16:00GMT at Ostermalm Wall-street of Sweden where private equity Nordic Capital is located.
