The Republican Way... What Health Care Reform?

During his presidency President Roosevelt tried in vain to get health care for all Americans without any success, but now thanks to the Democrats in Congress the country has an opportunity to gain crucial changes in health care to benefit all Americans. This is a great day for America. Democrats were able to secure sixty votes to take health care reform to the Senate floor for debate.

In the mean while I can’t wait for the new barrage of negative criticisms from so-called conservative radio and TV talk show hosts. What would they say now? I am wondering if any of them dropped from a heart attack yet? After all they all swore that this day would never come.

How about lunatic super screamer out of control scary so-called conservative radio talk show host Mark Levine? By now a vein or two in Levine's neck are ready to blow?

I am certain that the “pack of four”: the druggie, the sexual harasser, the so-called “recovered”-alcoholic and the two-face liar talking heads” Republican mouthpiece Rush Limbaugh, Bill O’Reily Shaun Hannity, and Glen Beck by now are very busy planning their next big attack yet against health care reform and the public option.

It is no secret that these hateful people spent a substantial amount of airtime on the radio and on Television trying to defeat health care reform. At every step of the way they made sure to bring out every negative scenario that would occur if Congress would to approve a health care bill. It seems that these pack of vicious hypocrites are perfectly fine with the fact that millions of Americans do not have health care.

Is that the Republican way?

The “pack of vicious four” worked diligently for months to make sure that the health care reform bill never ever saw the light of day. These clowns really believed their constant ranting and raving and spewing misinformation and inciting people against health care reform would stop Congress from doing the people’s business?

Obviously the rants and the spewing against health care reform did not work even amongst Blue Dog Democrats. Democrats stuck together for a change and voted to advance the bill to the Senate floor. Lucky for the American people Republicans are not in control of the country any longer… eight years of hell under Republican control, one has to be mentally ill to go back for more.

For months “Talking heads” Rush Limbaugh, Bill O’Reily Shaun Hanitty, and Glen Beck mounted a vicious well orchestrated “over the top” radio and TV campaign including rallies and “Tea Bagging” events against health care reform and the public option. The

”pack of four” were in a big time roll as they spew a litany of negative rants not only against health care reform and the public option, but also against Democrats and lets not forget President Obama and his administration, which they truly despise.

Limbaugh, O’Reilly, Hannitty, Beck and Levine spent months spewing and ranting hateful misrepresentations trying to scare and or convince people that “health care reform was bad for America and health care reform was “dead in the water” And that “health care reform was not going anywhere anytime soon” in this country… their desperate rants obviously did not work. They were sadly convinced that the health care bill would never make it to the Senate floor… they were so wrong.

Rush Limbaugh, Bill O’Reilly, Shaun Hannitty Glen Beck and Mark Levine failed to recognize that the majority of the American people favor a public option and are demanding that their elected representative vote for a public option in the health care reform bill. If they don’t follow the mandate of their constituencies and vote to exclude public option from the bill, next election they can find another job.

I am baffled by the audacity of Republicans and certain Blue Dog Democrats… The health care of Americans is the most important and biggest investment the U.S. can make. A healthy country is one with a healthy populace. To deny health care for all Americans is to ignore the health and security of the country.

The health care reform vote will only advance the bill to the Senate floor to enter in to a debate. Basically is the first step of many, but nonetheless this is a very important step that could culminate in health care reform for the benefit of the American people. This alone represents a lot more Republicans ever offered to the American people… change is in the air.

As far as the vicious “pack of four” + one Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, O’Reilly and Levine I am sure that they are getting ready to rant and spew some more hateful messages fill with misrepresentations. In the mean while as millions of Americans I am looking forward to the health care debate in the Senate… I can’t wait. Peace… cookie.

i want to share my story to everyone. about a month ago my mother passed away! she lived in Virginia at home and home health came in everyday and sat with her from 11 to 7 to make sure she was getting her baths and eating and what ever eles she needed only for us daughters to find out that they was not doing that.. there is a brother that lived with her and a sister that only lived 20 minutes away and two of us that lived in missouri. On the 24th of august i recieved pictures of her that made me concern for her health so i called 911 there and sent them over to check on her they called back and said she was fine so on that sunday my other sister that lived here with me went back home to check on her onlt to find her laying in bed being eat up with magets from the outside in, this nurse and my brother had let her lay their for 6 months without turning her or giving her baths. i love and miss my mother everyday and still hurt so much and wonder how this could happen. Right now it is under investington. my sister that lived there never went to check on her or even call her but now she has all rights to everything and keeping all of us other kids out of the loop of everything. i feel so bad that i cant do anything and how such bad people can get away with all that they do wrong. the one sister that never did anything was with my mother on her dying days and i am greatful for that but is only concerns is money. just pray and hope all comes to gether for my mom so she can rest in peace. thanks for taking the time to listen and i pray everyday that this never happens to anyone eles. may God be with us all!

Egyptian cuts off penis to torpedo marriage

An Egyptian has cut off his own penis in protest at his parents' choice of bride, a police official said.

The 25-year-old labourer from the village of Sheikh Eissa in southern Egypt was taken to hospital in stable condition, the official said, adding that the man had also mutilated his testicles.

"He was in love with a woman but his parents rejected her and told him to marry another woman he didn't want. He took a knife and cut off his penis in his room," the official said.

Doctors were unable to reattach the severed member, the official added.

Rihanna Still In Bondage?

I would think that the last thing Rihanna would want to do is to appear in bondage of any type… in any way, shape or form. Despite the fact that I don’t hold stars as “role models” by Rihanna’s own admission young kids look up to her and love and admire her work and they think of her as a “role model”. Young girls want to be like her. So my question is why did Rihanna chose to expose herself in such a degrading way in her latest music video, album cover and photo layouts? After being beat by then boyfriend Chris Brown? Is bondage the type of attire Rihanna should be wearing? What does it say about her?

That is why I believe that so many of her fans were surprised and and horrified and did not expect that Rihanna would agree to be photographed and videotape in bondage, especially after her domestic abuse incident.

So we ask: what ever happened to her so-called commitment to empower women? I say that actions speak louder than words.

During her media Television and Cable blitz Rihanna placed emphasis in “recovery” and also in “recognizing one own power to become stronger”. What kind of “power” can a woman think she has when they see their “role model” Rihanna in bondage after her domestic abuse?

Call me crazy but it is obvious that Rihanna is sending out mixed messages. Her video for what I have seen demonstrates submission. What kind of “power” is Rihanna talking about? Can a woman get ”power” from being wrapped in barbwire or even worse? Is being in bondage an activity that would empower women?

Rihanna’s bondage video and photo spreads lend zero value to women domestic abuse issues. Her distasteful, sleazy music video only affirms women as “sexual objects”, readily available to men to use and or abuse as they so please… Her bondage get up speaks for itself. It screams “women are pieces of meet that can be dominated and torture with “barb wire”.

How does Rihanna’s “bondage music video character” and photo layouts add anything that is positive to advance women role in society? Is bondage a positive force in a woman's life?

I could not help but to wonder if Rihanna is exploiting her domestic abuse to sell albums? Is Rihanna exploiting the beat down she received from Chris Brown for financial gain?

If Rihanna (as she claims) “learned and grew” from the horrible abuse she was subjugated to by Chris Brown, I content that she would not have allowed herself to pose in bondage and be used like a piece of cheap meat to sell albums and music videos.

If she were truly committed to help end domestic violence against women Rihanna would not had agreed to wear such a demeaning attire which is contrary to her claims of “empowering women”.

It is obvious that Rihanna learned very little or nothing at all about her own domestic abuse at the hands of boyfriend or ex boyfriend Chris Brown. I would not be surprised if she takes him back… Rihanna is still in “bondage”.

African-American are one of the most loyal supporters of the Democratic Party. Many of us are also uninsured and under insured. We need and support Health Care Reform that includes a strong Public Option.

Based on the African-American loyal support of the Democratic Party I am so pleased that all 59 Senators of our party plus one Independent stood and delivered a vote that allows the HCR Bill to be debated on the floor of the Senate!!!

Fatal Flaws in the Health Care Bill

Everyone needs to make an effort to learn how to take care of their health so they will be less likely to become seriously ill. Modern medicine does not spend enough time addressing the problem of how to help people take care of themselves properly and teach them how to keep themselves healthy.

A natural reason for illness is it motivates us to discover what we did to make ourselves sick. Illness should be a motivator to help us learn how to avoid the suffering we experience when we don’t take care of ourselves properly.

Modern medicine favors treatments that mask symptoms of illness or alleviate/eliminate discomfort or remove organs that are no longer working properly. For these reasons people are less likely to be motivated to discover how they may have caused their suffering, and correct it.

I believe many illnesses can be traced to improper diet, lack of rest and/or sleep, chronic fatigue over prolonged periods, dependence on stimulants, drugs or alcohol, and/or risky lifestyle behaviors.

It makes more sense to help people understand how their poor choices makes them ill than to medicate the symptoms of their faulty choices.

Regardless of how strong people may think they are, the body ultimately succumbs to bad food, too much refined sugar and refined salt, tobacco and whatever else they may be consuming that causes their body functions to become compromised.

The tragedy of the current health care bill is it largely overlooks the importance of the individual taking responsibility for the following:

1) Providing nourishing and well-balanced meals for oneself and any family members involved to reduce the incidence of illness.

2) Establishing a peaceful and quiet home environment that is conducive to getting enough rest and sleep.

3) Creating a living environment that is orderly, loving, supportive and well-balanced.

4) Emphasizing methods which strengthen the immune system rather that wear it down through stress, anxiety, etc.

5) Emphasizing health and wellness education that boosts prevention rather than just taking care of those who are already ill.

If this 5-fold plan were put in place, it would save Americans billions of dollars in health care costs, at much lower cost.

As Benjamin Franklin purportedly said, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”. Early American society was greatly influenced by Ben Franklin’s thinking. It helped Americans become strong and independent.

Today, we are willing to turn over our future and our children’s children’s futures to bureaucrats who would mortgage our future for a plan that simply makes the insurance companies wealthier, while shouldering us with the burden through higher taxes on income that is getting smaller and smaller for a majority of Americans.

This is sheer folly, and one more nail, being driven into the coffin that was America the Great, the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Of course emergency medicine will always play an important place in needed health care, but it is a small part of the whole health care crisis. If we limit our support to emergency health care, we will be saving a lot of money and freeing up more for health care education and preventative care.

If Americans do not wake now at this critical time and do to what needs to be done, we will all be singing a dirge for the death of America, not her rebirth from the ashes that the flames of ignorance and folly have caused to deplete and devastate our once mighty nation.

The choice is ours. We must make the right decision or face the dire consequences of our mistakes in the years to come.

I just saw a news report that said Spain has paid in excess of 3 million dollars for the release of hostages due to a pirate attack. I am extremely disappointed with this action. The purpose of these attacks is to get money. The problem is growing and it seems the only thing being done, at least by some countries, is to pay these pirates and perpetuate the problem. The only way we are going to stop the problem is to make pirate activity a waste of time and effort. The world has to unite on this issue and decide that pirates will no longer be paid money and be hunted down as international criminals. It has been an on going problem for years and has reached a point that it can no longer be ignored.
