Help CNN please when the log in will be fixed,

if anyone has the same problems leave a comment for CNN STAFF,

this is very uncomfortable,

to log in all the time,

to place our e-mails every time we want to check upload etc,

Keep America Beautiful, Inc., the organization that in its words, "follows a practical approach that unites citizens, businesses and government to find solutions that advance our core issues of preventing litter, reducing waste and beautifying communities." is paying an Indonesian graphic designer $750 to create their new Keep America Beautiful logo.

Here are the facts.

Robert Wallace, Vice President of Communications for Keep America Beautiful, Inc. sponsored a logo contest via Crowdspring, LLC, a graphic design crowdsourcing website.

Crowdsourcing is described by Wiktionary as "delegating a task to a large diffuse group, usually without monetary compensation."

In this instance, there were 462 designs submitted and only 1 was chosen, meaning dozens of graphic designers received no compensation for their work.

The surely unintended irony is that the crowdsourced design chosen for the new Keep America Beautiful logo was created by an Indonesian designer who goes by the name Fabiola.

According to Wikipedia "The ethical, social, and economic implications of crowdsourcing are subject to wide debate. For example, author and media critic, Douglas Rushkoff, in an interview published in Wired News, expressed ambivalence about the term and its implications."

A Wikipedia article about the crowdsourcing website Crowdspring includes the following. "The company and its business model have received some criticisms for being spec work. This is the process of asking professionals to complete custom work for the chance of getting payment."

Heather Ellis Walmart Line Jumper My Thoughts

Walmart line jumper Heather Ellis was given a plea bargin as the jury was deliberating her case. She was given four days in jail, one year of unsupervised probation and told to take an anger management class.

This case was not really about jumping in front of the line, it was about resisting arrest and assaulting two police officers. Although most people who assault a police officer would get a much stiffer sentence, I tend to agree with her sentence. The ridiculus thought of giving her 15 years in jail was just insane. She is an upstanding individual, a teacher now, she was a college student at the time this event happened. Yes she was wrong by jumping in line, yes she was wrong in her attitude towards the police but I believe it was just a random outburst. Anger management should help her and four days in jail will send a message to everyone. I think it was handled properly and so must have the district attorney that offered her the plea bargin.
