Oklahoma/Missouri Tornado May 10

This Saturday PM tornado touched down in Picher, OK and traveled several miles into Missouri. Many homes destroyed and several died from injuires. These aerial photos were taken Sunday AM May 11, 2008.

I was filming hail, during a storm in Jonesboro, saturday, when a lightning bolt struck a tree just 50 feet from me, a minute later, another bolt hit about 100 feet away, just off camera...this storm snapped and toppled trees in various parts of the city and spawned several tornadoes in the area. No injuries were reported and just minor damage to structures. May 10 2008

Tornado In Stafford Co, Va

Around 10pm, the storm only got worse. I was laying on my mom's couch on my computer...about an hour later the rain came down harder, the wind sounded like it was inside, and the lightening was unbearable. All of sudden i could hear trees falling and limbs breaking everywhere. The electricity went out again, so Im sitting in here alone in the dark and all of the sudden, my ears popped. My mom and her fiance ran in here and we all headed to the basement with our dogs. Once the worst part was over, we ran outside to see what damage we could find. Our power line was almost ripped off our house, our flagpole is flat on the ground now and our fence was demolished. Sadly, our neighbor across the street in photo 1159, got the tornado in her yard. It had been hopping all over the county and landed in her trees and knocked 4 of them into her roof. My moms fiance is a deputy for Spotsylvania Co. and he put his cruiser's floodlight on the neighbor's house. He ran out there to help her and her husband put a tarp over the gapping hole. Only one other house on our street was damaged. Everyone else just have trees, limbs and other stuff all over their yards. My family is out there cleaning up at the moment. Thank god no one was hurt.
